Prosodic Feautures- The vocal aspects of speech. ( Volume,stress,intonation,speed.That contribute to meaning.)
Paralinguistic Features- Non- verbal aspects of communication such as intonation,pausing which help speakers to convey meaning.
Transcript- An exact written representation of speech.
Colloquial language- Slang language or infromal language
Idiosyncratic- everything specific to you
Idiolect- type of language specific to you.
Imperative sentences- Give advice
Declaritives sentences- Give information
Interrogative sentences - Ask questions and interrogate
Sublimely - Brilliantly
Conspicuous- Viewable
Adjectives- Describing words
Verbs- Doing words
Phonology- Sounds in the case of spoken language
Graphology- Study of visual signs-the marks on the page or screen in written language
Morphilogy- Looks at the way that words are formed from smaller untis of meanings.
Lexis- Refers to the individual words used. Vocabulary.
Grammar- Refers to structure how words are combined to form meanings
Onomatopoeia- This is a description of sounds and is a feauture of literary texts. As with any sound technique it all depends on the context of the words. Different sounds take on different meanings in different contexts
Rhyme the use of rhyme for end words in lines of poetry can be effective. if there is a repeated sound it throws emphasis on those words.
Alliteration,assonance,consonance- Repitition of sounds is effective and again, if you read the poem aloud,it will be easier to see the effect of the sounds of the words. Each type of word sound has a different effect in each context so make sure that what you say makes sense to that particular poem or text.
